The European Union is not going to fail!

The EU is vastly about more than economic and “common markets.” The EU is made up, especially after ToL, of several institutions that have little to do with economics. This includes the European Parliament, Court of Justice, Europol police agency, as well as Justice and Home Affairs in the European Commission that works largely in the area of supranational Citizenship of the European Union. Citizenship of the EU is a supranational citizenship that every national of a Member State has in addition to national citizenship.

ESDP under the Lisbon Treaty – NATO again?!

ESDP under the Lisbon Treaty – NATO again?!

Yes – NATO again (ho hum…) as if the Europeans simply do not know what it means to be truly free, whole and at peace (and probably don’t). The reality is that Europe can never be considered “whole and free,” nor “at peace” when Uncle Sam continues insist that NATO be in European security and defense plans. Also – the European project will never be finished without real European defense and military independence.

Arab nations and counterproductive actions with Switzerland

There are better ways to take on racist and Islamophobia morons of the Swiss People’s Party. Pitting the European Union in the side of the Bigots in Berne is not smart, but what is really dumb are counterproductive “calls for jihad.”

The headscarf and freedom of expression

The Council of Europe has called the headscarf and burka bans questionable. Women are denied there freedom of choice in the name of “their liberation.” When it boils down – we can clearly see that burka bans are justified on stereotypes and misconceptions about Islamic family and community life

Geert Wilders as a threat to Dutch freedom

Geert Wilders as a threat to Dutch freedom

Probably the most dangerous person in Europe now is not some hot-headed Islamist. Nope – its Geert Wilders who is out to stop Islamification – something that is not happening – and trounce his country democracy and turn it into a rouge nation.

Kosovo needs Serbia

Kosovo needs Serbia

One country that is deserving of EU membership is Serbia. First the efforts that the European Union poured into to opposition against Milosevic in the October 2000 elections could have been the real blow that removed Europe’s last dictator from office. Since then, Serbs have been loyal to the idea of a “European Serbia” – but this support was dependent upon the EU maintaining a commitment to the country and its fledgling democracy. In truth, Serbia should have had its accession treaty at least two years ago

Too many Brits – not enough Europeans

Too many Brits – not enough Europeans

The Lisbon Treaty is to bring an External Actions Service (EAS), which is slated to be the diplomatic arm of the European Union and its foreign policy. Even as there are indications that Catherine Ashton is in over her head as far as being its Foreign Policy minister, her frequent trips home to the UK could have her under the influence of London. It will interesting to read her upcoming report on what her EAS will look like, but we can bet that it will be connected – some how and some way – to the old Atlantic order. We need to watch who she appoints and their connections to NATO, the so-called “Euro-Atlantic Community,” and to the US.
